Today, Friday is the last day we have the crane so it is a big push by everyone to get the raising finished.
First a few interior walls and then the massive glulam beams are craned into place. Adam and Martin drive impossibly long Rothoblaas screws through the glulams.at each end.
Then fly in the roof panels. Deafening sounds of gangs of impact drivers. Each of these peices fit together as tightly as a jigsaw puzzle.
Then the Czech team suggested a topping out ceremony. A branch from a tree is nailed to the highest point and we all toast, with Martin's home brew Slivovitz, the trees for providing the wood for our house.
The circle is closed as the last wall panels slide into place.
And then the last roof panel until all is complete
