Much like concrete XPS foam is not the preferred "Green" method of insulation. We will use wood fiber insulation on all the above grade walls but need something more water durable for below grade.
That could be XPS or mineral rock. Problem is when you compare prices it the Rockwool is almost 3X the cost. Everything is 3X the cost it seems, but this will be buried and (hopefully) never seen again. So foam it is and here it is being installed.
