Laying out the geometry and a Thermal break

An octagon was never going to be easy. Here, trying to be certain that all the walls are laid out correctly, that difficulty comes home to roost.
Since the CLT panels are all pre-cut any mistake at this stage is terminal!!

Each panel sits on a sill plate which is wider, by 18mm each side, than the panel. So we do have that amount of leeway.

In an effort to thermally separate the slab of the garage (which will not be heated and has a great big opening) from the main house slab, we installed a 3" foam divider and used dowels from Schock to mechanically connect the slabs whilst allowing for some movement.

This afternoon the rebar mats are laid in and tomorrow - CONCRETE.
